Rob and his team did an excellent job supporting us in another application to prune TPO trees in our garden. This is the second time we've used them as they are so good. They handled the application to the planning authorities and negotiated with them on our behalf to reach a successful outcome. We used Gristman tree surgery to cut my mother in laws hedges this year as I can no longer cope with the job. She has 200 metres of mixed hedges up to 3 metres tall in places but generally two metres, The job was completed in one day with no disruption. The level of work is excellent. Mostly good. The initial booking took a while, but that was partly because our own calendar in January took some time to firm up. Unfortunately, the initial quote did not take account of the large size of the apple tree so the work took much longer than the two guys anticipated. Was very happy with the pruning work on the hedges and trees. There was a 4 month gap between quote and the work being done (this was planned) and so what needed to be done had also changed. There was no problem with this, and Gristman were happy to flex what they did. They got through an incredible amount of work quickly. One exceptional thing for me was that the garden was immaculate afterwards - they cleared up absolutely all the cuttings, and put back anything they had moved in order to do that job. We are planning a extension to our house but the proximity of some trees covered by a tree protection order meant that we had to provide a report to show that there would be no impact. Rob worked with the arboriculturalist to define the scope investigation.
He used an airspade to excavate the area where the foundations would be to check for roots which would be damaged if foundations were dug.
Rob was very knowledgeable, understanding the reasons for doing the airspade excavation and what the planning office was likely to require.
He explained up front what he would be doing with the airspade and how messy it could be. He and his team did everything they could to minimise the mess and disruption.
