Technical information about this website’s accessibility

The Buy With Confidence Partnership is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to ‘the non-compliances’ listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Disproportionate burden

Some images on individual Buy With Confidence member profiles do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).

Some of our interactive forms are difficult to navigate using a keyboard.

Both our forms and the Buy With Confidence member profile were built by third party developers.

We’ve assessed the cost of fixing the issues with alt text on Buy With Confidence member profiles, as well as improving the accessibility of online forms. We believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will make another assessment when the supplier contract is up for renewal, likely to be in six months [March 2021].

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on September 22nd, 2020. It was last reviewed on September 22nd, 2020.

This website was last tested on September 22nd, 2020. The test was carried out by the Buy With Confidence National Operations Group.

We used this the following approach to deciding on a sample of pages to test, by analysing which were the most viewed pages, as well as a random sampling of other pages (for example, the thousands of Buy With Confidence member profiles on the site all follow the same format and pattern and so only a small proportion of these were tested). These pages were then passed through an accessibility checker to highlight any areas of concerns. These issues were then addressed across the site and the pages rechecked before this statement was published.
