I purchased a brand new scooter for the sum of £599 from Ableworld Salford branch in Dec '20. Within six months, the scooter had broken down on multiple occasions and despite Ableworld's own engineers' multiple attempts to rectify the scooter, all to no avail, I eventually requested a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Unfortunately, Ableworld Salford did not feel this particular piece of Government legislation applied to them, and as such the only avenue left open to me was to seek the assistance of the small claims court which through the assistance of court mediation saw me finally getting a part refund of the cost of the scooter after 18 months of being virtually ignored by this company. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!
We are sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with the conclusion of this case. With reference and in relation to your claim with us, our directors at Head Office and the franchisee director of Ableworld Salford were in agreement that what we had previously offered you was a fair amount to conclude the claim.
If a customer is unhappy or disagrees with our position, we are always prepared to offer mediation through Dispute Resolution process. Throughout any mediation process we work in an open and timely manner and as in this case, we did work with an independent mediator to come to an agreed conclusion for both parties.
Once the mediation process has been concluded and accepted by both parties, we consider the matter closed. (Reviewed July 2023)
