I had a leak in my central heating system, and to fix it needed an obsolete part. I threw myself on Redman's mercy, to see if they could source the item. Two hours later the engineer knocked on the door and ten minutes later the job was done, and our system checked over, back up and running. As usual, brilliant service. Many, many thanks! Our meter installer urged us to investigate a possible gas leak, and we contacted Redman's (whom we have used over ten years) the next morning. Unfortunately we did have a leak, and our gas had to be turned off, this during the recent cold snap. But Messrs Redman, father and son, 'took pity on us' and turned out two days later, on the Sunday, to carry out the very substantial work of laying in a new gas supply line. I have used them before and once again a great level of service and a job professionally completed. James stripped out the old boiler and relocated the new one elsewhere in the house, replaced all the radiators and in some cases relocated the new ones to new positions. They also installed a gas hob in a new kitchen. They were always courteous, punctual and explained what they were going to do beforehand and explained afterwards where we were. Overall the job was done very professionally, slight mishap with wrong parts being ordered but mistakes happen. My only gripe was the Company quote £60 for the first hours work and reduced rate thereafter, however what they don't tell you is that they when they arrive at your door you are automatically charged £60 if they cannot fix on speck. They then return with parts and you are indeed charged a reduced rate. Charge in time for my job equated to £115 labour charge for a combined total of about 1 hours work. Company should pre warn that the first hour is actually a diagnostic fee !!!

Several problems with workmanship not resolved to our satisfaction although a reduction in bill was obtained.
In the past week I have contacted the company by telephone several times about further problems with the way the extractor fan ducting was installed resulting in the ducting filling with condensation.Due to not getting any response from the trader and because I was concerned about the amount of water collecting in the ducting the possibility of the ducting splitting and the water causing damage to the ceiling I decided I needed to tackle the problem myself.
On Saturday I went into the loft and to cut a long story short recovered approximately 2.5 litres of water from the ducting.I then rerouted the ducting.Then I discovered that the wrong size hole had been cut in the ceiling. (Reviewed December 2019)

We had a burst water pipe in our loft which put our heating and hot water out of action. Out of the 6 companies I called on the Monday morning, this was the only one to have a receptionist so I could actually speak to someone rather than leave a message on an answer machine. The receptionist promised to phone back soon if they could help. She contacted me within the hour and said someone could call that afternoon (giving a 3 hour window.) They came within that window, and had found the fault, fixed it, waited for 15 mins to check nothing else was going awry, advised on our central heating system and were gone - all within 25 minutes.
The two man team were polite, efficient, very clear in their explanations of what they were doing, impressive in their knowledge/expertise and filled me with confidence in their professionalism. There was no payment taken at the time - an invoice was sent later in the post - avoiding that awkward handing over cash situation (do you give a tip???) etc. This also means that a couple of days at least will have passed before we have to pay, so if any immediate problems followed their visit, they have time to show themselves before any money has passed hands.
We are extremely pleased with their service from start to finish.
