Pest Control

Many years ago, more than I would like to remember, I worked for a fantastic boss as a pest controller. I loved my job and I loved the company. Unfortunately, after many years with the company, the councils went unitary and stopped offering residential pest control. As a result, we lost the council contracts and I lost my job. I was lost and as a result, I jumped from job to job, constantly looking and applying for every pest control technician job which turned up.

Unfortunately, I never had any success, as they either wanted a straight from school 17 year old or I was too experienced. As we fast forward through the years, I undertook jobs such as mechanical engineering, bus driving, class one truck driving and even hairdressing. Unfortunately, I was never able to return to my beloved career as a pest controller and it was looking unlikely I would ever get the opportunity to work in this industry again, so I took matters into my own hands. I studied like crazy and with the help of the British Pest Control Association, my many suppliers, and my amazing family. I have now been able to start my own business. I attended and continue to attend many online workshops run by the BPCA to ensure my knowledge is up to date.

Following the many changes in the industry over the years I thought it wise to retake my exams, which I happily passed gaining my RSPH level 2 qualification in pest management. I have the help and support from many leading industry experts, ensuring I have the best help and advice available for my business and customers. Setting up Perish-A-Pest has taken a lot of hard work, but Im very proud of the progress we have made to date.

We will always be a family business putting the customers' needs first, as we fully understand how having unwanted visitors in your home can be a stressful and frightening situation. We are here for you.

We operate across Cornwall from our base in Penryn.
