Norman and his team redecorated almost every room, repointed and painted outside, and best of all, refurbished the shower room. The shower room is excellent, a good design and well finished. Very pleased with the friendly team who were reliable and cleaned at the end of each day.
Thank you. (Reviewed April 2023)
I contacted the company on a Friday and Norman came out the next day to quote. Norman was very helpful and the the level of service he provided my 88 year old mother was excellent. Very tidy and friendly. I would use Norman again. (Reviewed July 2022)
N T Building & Maintenance have carried out work for me for a number of years. Excellent quality. Leave the site clean and tidy. Friendly and helpful service. Highly recommended. (Reviewed June 2022)
I can't praise Norman and his team enough. Work included ripping out old kitchen, replacing, decorating and tiling, outside rendering and making good existing rendering, large patio/courtyard area and conservatory. Norman worked with me to get what I wanted in the limited space I had (which meant several iterations). He advised every step of the way and kept me fully informed of any issues which he always had a solution for. Costs were kept to a minimum and came in within budget; no unexpected costs either. He went above and beyond, his team too. No delays or 'no-shows' - there was someone doing something every day and work was completed ahead of time. All areas were cleaned at the end of the day. The team was so thoughtful and professional. Attention to detail 100%. Will def use again. (Reviewed March 2022)
The service I received was very good, nothing too much trouble, very clean and tidy. (Reviewed December 2021)
This is the second time i have used N. T Builders and again I'm really pleased with the works. I just bought a new flat in Southampton which needed a complete overhaul, plastering and decorating throughout, new wc and basins in both bathrooms, works to the kitchen and some new lighting. Norman and his team are professional, courteous and helpful, even overseeing the laying of new floor coverings when I couldn't be there myself. Would highly recommend! (Reviewed November 2021)
Polite, helpful service. Very efficient. (Reviewed November 2021)

Thank you. (Reviewed August 2021)
All works completed to a high standard on site, every day site left clean and tidy. (Reviewed August 2021)
I only selected this business only because they were "buy with confidence" registered.
He was very expensive. So I assumed I would get a service to match.
Unfortunately he charged almost a 1K to do a patch repair of 1 metre square and skim plastering
His painter decorator couldn't paint or decorate. No preparation work was done. Although used an undercoat (which is pointless if you haven't done the preparation work) There are tear drop drips where he has rushed through the job. I did point this out and he reluctantly addressed some of the issues. But generally the results were very poor. For 700.00 for painting one room. He told me after he started work that that didn't include the painting the wood work. Please learn from my mistake and don't throw your money down the drain.
N T Building & Maintenance Limited's response:
The area of plaster in the dining room was in fact half a ceiling and not 1metre. We took down the damaged plasterboard and plaster, disposed of all debris, re-boarded the damaged areas and plastered the whole 16ft x 10ft ceiling, not just the area that had been replaced.
The customer has failed to mention that when removing the wallpaper in readiness for decoration, the old plaster was coming away from one wall which we spent a day taking off, disposing of 5bags of rubble, uni-bonding the wall and re-plastering before we could decorate, we carried all of this out free of charge. My quotation was to strip walls from wallpaper and decorate ceiling and walls, the customer did not want us to quote for any woodwork as she was having a new floor laid and skirting boards fitted. In addition to this, insurers will not pay out for gloss-work as there was no damage to the woodwork.
With regards to the price of the job, she told me she had acquired several quotes so I don't understand why she would have chosen our quotation if the others were cheaper? The insurance assessor who was on site agreed my quotation and thought our price for the work was reasonable and gave us the go ahead.
With regards to the quality of work, I walked around with the customer at the end of the job and she said she was very happy with the work and paid the invoice a few days later. If she had raised a problem with me I would have addressed it

Norman and his team undertook a full external repaint and some repairs to my rental property. The work was carried out speedily, to an excellent standard and high quality finish and the team were courteous and extremely tidy - I would not hesitate to use N T Building again and can highly recommend their services. Thank you Norman. (Reviewed August 2019)

3rd time I have used this company, always reliable, polite and do a great job. (Reviewed April 2018)
Preparation of walls was poor. Paint was applied over unfinished plaster filler.
I stopped the work and the wall was redone to a better standard the second time.
The quality of work was generally poor.
N T Building & Maintenance's response:
Firstly, I am disappointed that the consumer felt it necessary to leave negative feedback as after I had completed the works we walked around together and he said he was very happy with the job.
With regards to the bedroom ceiling, it was in bare plaster, carried out by others to a poor standard. We applied 1 mist coat and 2 full coats of emulsion which showed the abnormalities on the ceiling. I pointed this out to the consumer and suggested that it could be re-plastered complete or I could tidy it up with fine filler which he agreed to. When dry, I applied a further mist coat and 2 full coats of emulsion which improved the overall appearance and he was happy with the result. I did not charge any extra for these additional works.
Some days later he called and spoke to my wife saying he had put masking tape over various areas of the bedroom ceiling to mark out for new lights and when he pulled the tape away, some of the emulsion came away from the ceiling and that he was unhappy about this. I called him and we discussed the matter and I pointed out that yes, if you leave masking tape on any emulsion surface it will most probably take the paint off, especially as the paint was fresh and I advised that he should have used low tack tape. He did at no time say he had used 'slightly tacky' tape, as he states in his email to you. I offered to come round before my holiday to make good and gave him a date but he said he wouldnt be available so I offered a further date, again before my holiday, which he also declined and said he would do it himself.
Regarding the consumer's comment that after the 1st day he was unhappy with the painting in lounge - we were in the bedroom and landing areas for 3 days prior to starting the lounge so I find this a bit confusing.
The consumer did point out to me that he wasnt happy with some of the cutting in under the coving in the lounge to which I replied that we hadnt finished and I would walk around with him at the end of the whole job and make sure he was happy with everything and to not pay me until he was happy. At the end of the job we walked around and he said he was happy with the work, 2 or 3 days later he paid me.
I hope this is of help, (Reviewed March 2018)
