KL Builders: A truly professional firm

PROS
Scaffolding, materials and craftsmen all arrived on date agreed.
Workmanship was excellent. Some work was identified as unnecessary, thus my bill reduced but unscheduled yet necessary work was identified and completed.
Site care was excellent. 3 storey scaffolding was necessary and yet when completed there was no rubbish (builders or otherwise).
Noise pollution - none. Of course they had their radio on but there was never an attempt to replicate Glastonbury!

PRICE
Not the cheapest and not the dearest, excellent value.

From the first engagement it was clear that KL & Sons put the customer at the heart of their business, Kevin kept to his commitments and delivered a clear well costed quote from which we were able to proceed. Throughout the build we were kept well informed, and the team went out of their way to minimise disruption.
Kevin and Leanne did a great job of managing the schedule, material supplies, their team and sub-contractors to keep the project moving forward at pace, and the whole team were a pleasure to have around. All work was completed to the highest standard and we were very pleased with the end result (a new bay window roof and completely re-fitted bathroom).

Kevin kept a close eye on matters and was always available to discuss any element of the work.

The on-site team were excellent - very good at keeping us in the loop where decisions were required and at keeping us up to date on progress. They also made sure that all rubbish was cleared away at the end of every day.

My Father in Law had an issue with blocked drains at his property and I contacted K&L to see if they could help urgently. Both Kevin & Luke were very responsive and turned up on site a couple of hours after making contact. That afternoon they started the works to repair a blocked / broken soak away and to connect kitchen drainage to main sewer. They had 4 men on the job and completed in a couple of days which was fantastic. they put the driveway and garden back to how it was before they arrived and my in laws were very pleased with the works carried out. We had a very poor experience with this company. The work was not carried out to a high standard, some of our possessions were damaged and the approach was unprofessional. We are very upset about the amount of money we paid for a supposedly premium service which turned out to be poor quality and stressful. They even put up with our over friendly dog who constantly got in their way. I asked three firms to tender for some work I wanted doing on my property. Although KL and Sons Building Services Ltd were not the cheapest I went for them because I had been impressed by Kevin, the owner, when he came to look at the job.

The work was done by Kevins son and a colleague who arrived on time and well prepared. The pair was clean and tidy and had a spotless and well-organised vehicle - always a good sign. They did the work quickly and efficiently and tidied up immaculately on completion. They were a pleasure to have around the property. I do not regret having gone for a more expensive quotation.

We have been using K&L Building Services since 2006. The work has always been good, and we continue to use them. This is as good a recommendation as any. Kevin is always polite and cheerful and his two main attributes are customer service/satisfaction and communication. He always turns up when arranged and if he cannot make it, he gives you decent notice unlike many (probably, in my experience, most) builders. Also he does not tend to start a job and leave you in limbo for weeks while he completes something else - again like many builders. (Reviewed August 2018)

KL and Son went over and above when completing our kitchen renovation. They did the work to an excellent standard and were careful to clean up after each day of work. They explained everything they were going to do along the way, always checking with me should anything change.
