Hallmark Builders were employed to demolish a detached garage, rebuild a garage and extension attached to the house, add a large porch, remove a flat roof and replace with a pitch roof to dormer and landscape the front garden .
Brian Vass managed the project from day one and as he promised we were able to 'sit back and relax' whilst the works were being carried out .
Brian has excellent knowledge of building techniques and methods and paid much attention to even the smallest detail. His team of hardworking builders had all the skills and ability needed for this project.
Brain and his team are all very good natured, friendly and trustworthy.
We can thoroughly recommend Hallmark Builders and will use them again.

Hallmark have just finished a single storey side extension for us and we could not be more pleased with it.

We live in a small bungalow and Brian helped us squeeze a much needed en suite cloakroom into our master bedroom. Not a huge job for him but he still arranged all the trades and visited with each of them before they started. All the contractors he employed had worked with him before and this gave us confidence that the work would be to a good standard. This way of working is much more professional than employing a general builder that say they can do everything themselves. So we have a smart looking en suite at a good price. We asked Hallmark Builders to arrange repairs to our roof resulting from the recent storms. Brian Vass responded straight away, advised on the scope of the work necessary and made the arrangements quickly. The repairs were completed on the days scheduled. Hallmark Builders have made an excellent job of the alterations to my house, including the removal of internal walls and the chimney/ fireplace, the installation of a new window lintel and construction/ plastering/ coving of various new walls.
Brian's quote was very competitive, he visited site almost every day to check on progress and any snags or additional requirements were addressed promptly without fuss.
His team (Gary and Shaun) are excellent, they are polite, tidy, very experienced and highly professional.

Hallmark Builders cut a gap for a door to my garage, bricked up an old window, installed a lintel and a new door. Brian kept us fully informed at all times. The brickwork was excellent and the door is now the best quality in the house, with high security locks. Everything went to schedule with Brian calling to check progress on the 3 days of work. We are absolutely delighted with the result. You'd think the door had always been there. The job came in to exact time and cost with the "fensa" certificate arriving within a few weeks. Mr Vass was very hands on from the outset and kept a close watch on all aspects of our ground floor extension.

We have used him before when re-configuring our lounge. We were happy with that outcome and were more than happy to use him on this project.

His team are polite, arrive on time and ensure the site is left clean and tidy at the end of each day.

We are delighted with the work carried out by Hallmark Builders to transform our garage and lobby into a guest bedroom with shower room. The many tasks on this complex job were very well organised by Brian Vass, and we were particularly impressed that he visited the job almost every working day to check progress and also to keep us informed. All the tradesmen and specialists deployed were good craftsmen and did their work carefully and courteously. The finished job looks great and will be a big benefit to us. The site has been left clean and tidy. Though there were additional costs, some of which could not reasonably have been foreseen, these were discussed and agreed to as they arose. Estimate provided for work was totally inaccurate.
Additional thousands of pounds added throughout the job for site rubbish removal via skips and grab lorries.
Huge amounts of hidden additional costs incurred during re-roofing process, including disposal of old roofing tiles and labour to put into skips.
Covering for drive was done too late to avoid the damage which has been caused to our paving and other landscaping has been left damaged.
Mauve pen marks left by electrician various places.
Final clearing and clean up of the site was totally inadequate and we were left with major tasks to do as Brian refused to address the issues when we asked.
Some of our back patio, which Hallmark replaced now has puddles as it doesn't slope away. We never had this problem before the building works.

Where there were unknown costs these were covered as far as could reasonably be expected in the circumstances. All additional work was agreed by the customer.
