The company measured up for shutters I wanted fitted for Xmas. When the fitter arrived, 2 of the shutters were missing! I complained to the manager and a search began for the missing shutters at their depot and with their courier . A week later there was still no trace of them! I cancelled the order. I was left bitterly disappointed, very upset and let down. customer service left a lot to be desired. Front of house service was ok, but it was left to shop assistant to tell me they the missing shutters still couldn't be found. I had spoken to manager previously to complain, so out of courtesy I feel she should have followed this up personally, as part of good customer care/service . If this had been my company I would've sent flowers etc as an apology. I would NOT use this company again!
Trader's Response:
"A deposit was indeed taken in time to deliver and install shutters before Christmas, depending on the time of year the lead time is 10 - 12 weeks. The fitting was booked and two of our full time fitters arrived on time and ready to install as promised. It wasnt until all boxes were unpacked on site that they discovered a shortage delivered ! We were two doors missing from the bay window. My fitter called the office straight away and we first checked they had not been left behind, when we realised not we called our suppliers to check if they still had them or had they been incorrectly labelled. This was all done within 10 minutes of the first call from our fitter. We really didnt have an answer at this point, as the owner Of first 4 blinds I went to call the customer to explain the situation as she was not at home. Just as I was calling her, she was calling in the other line. I explained that we were extremely sorry and appreciated how upset she must be but assured her that we were going to be doing everything we could to put it right. I also assured her that we would call the next day with an update, which I did, that they had not been found as yet and agreed as it was Friday maybe update again the following Tuesday, hopefully giving them time to find them.
My long serving and respected office manager (not shop assistant as suggested) did call on Tuesday 3rd December and gave the bad news that at this time the doors had still not been found. We totally understood why at this time ( 5 days from discovering doors missing ) that our customer would like to cancel and we immediately refunded the deposit into her account. My office manager relayed the conversation and I called my customer leaving a message to say she could call me at anytime to discuss this. I never got a call. We did get a call however, quite a while after the cancellation from the customer to see if doors had ever been found, as she would be happy to have fitted, but sadly they were never found.
At First4blinds we pride ourselves in service but obviously things can go wrong and it genuinely upsets us, on this occasion it was totally beyond our control but I can assure everyone that this is rare but we will be taking comments on board and hopefully continue to receive positive comments going forward."
