Rang them early Tuesday morning and got a slot between 11:00 - 15:00. Arrived before 12:00, understood the problem and began work immediately. First recovered two drain rods and plunger inconveniently left by me the day before. Fired up the pressure washer and cleared the blockage pretty soon after. I did so and an engineer came out the next day and solved the problem.

Sunday morning and saw that I had a blocked drain in the backyard. Had family from Scotland staying with me and needed to sort the problem that same day. I had last used Draincare in 2016 so phoned them late morning. The call diverted to a mobile and Andy explained that he was in the car on his way back from holiday but when I explained my situation, and he offered to come round as soon as he could. I called first thing on a Monday morning, having stepped out of the back door to a blocked drain in the backyard and a large pool growing around it and starting to head towards the doors. Andy & Michael arrived within 2 hours of my phone call.
They got straight on to locating the problem, not where initially thought, but soon traced to a nearby manhole. Access to it was far from easy or straight forward, but they persevered. Cleared the blockage and flushed the system through. Seems the drainage trap was unlike anything Andy had seen in all his career, so an education for all.
They were very friendly and cheerful throughout what turned into a more time consuming job than initially anticipated.

Friendly and thorough service who cleaned a drain that had supposedly been cleaned twice before by companies I hired in the last 4 years. This time I could actually see the detritus being removed from the drain, particularly a build of of fat that must have been growing for years. I also had a drain inspection with cameras and they talked me through what I was seeing and offered advice on how to keep the drain clean. They also advised me that I wouldn't need a yearly clean as now the fat was gone the drain will clear properly (a previous company tried to get me to take this unnecessary service). Very good service. I was given a clear explanation of the charging before I booked and an indication of the time it could be actioned. I received a telephone call before they arrived. The blockage was in the sewage pipe and it was cleared within half an hour. In preparation for new flooring to be fitted over internal inspection pits we asked Drain Care (SW) Ltd to check the integrity of the drain system before going ahead. Andy arrived on time and talked through what we wanted before opening the pits and passing the video camera down each leg to check all was clear. We called the firm and they were very pleasant to deal with at the initial point of contact. We asked about service and price; both of which were clearly explained to us. A rough time slot was agreed. They called us about one hour before attending and this gave us plenty of time to get home to be available to let them in. Attended to clear two blocked toilets, inspect drains for cause and fit an inspection trap to soil pipe. Only one toilet was unblocked with a plunger and left the other blocked. Left the property after 5 minutes and never returned to complete the job, despite being told the fee covered 1 1/2 hours on site. No report was made of the work done. The company invoiced full amount after two weeks and refused to admit substandard work. I would not be using them again or recommend. Their fee equates to £1296 per hour.
RESPONSE FROM TRADER
The facts stated by customer above are not correct and UNTRUE. Customer provided with a cost of £90.00 + VAT to attend site to unblock 2 WC's to a tenanted property. Attended at stated time and our engineer searched TWO properties to try and locate an Inspection Chamber but none was found both WC's were unblocked and flush tested approximately 6 times. The tenant verified the works and times on/off site & duly signed are works JOB CARD. We were on site for for 40 minutes. Recommendations were advised on Invoice submitted to customer. So based on the facts both WC's were unblocked and we were on site for a lot more than 5 minutes. The customer was not present at any time during our works. We have a standard charge to attend site to include any high pressure jetting and use of any special tools/equipment with an allocated time of up to 1 hour & 10 minutes. We have tried to resolve the matter but the customer has not ascertained the full facts and we are disappointed with his comments as they are not accurate to the facts of the matter. We have been in business over 35 years and have thousands of satisfied customers and will continue to have thousands more!

He was very informative & gave us good advice as to what our next step should be which was to contact our local water provider. I had a drain blockage from a downstairs toilet (first one in fifteen years), which was diagnosed and fixed within forty-five minutes or so. The company responded to my call with a same day service.

The operator, Andy, was very professional and competent and kept me fully informed of what he was doing. He offered advice on possible causes and the option of a free pipe tv scan if the blockage recurred, also how to deal with any potential household insurance claim should this be necessary.
