Quick, efficient and tidy, very pleased (Reviewed December 2017)
I contacted Dave Spooner to quote for a new boiler he agreed to come out on Friday from 2pm onwards, but he did not show up, not even a phone call. Very poor. I am currently in a wheelchair and housebound so I would not have been out. I would not recommend him to anyone. If someone can't show up then they do not deserve to have the job.
--------------------------- Traders Response------We sincerely apologise for this. Due to an administrative error, the appointment had been entered into the diary incorrectly. We always attend appointments scheduled and would always contact a customer to advise if we were running late and regret on this occasion that this did not happen due to our administration error. I would like to clarify that we do not charge for quotations and therefore there was no financial loss to the complainant. The person who made the complaint never contacted us in the first instance to voice their unhappiness or indeed let us know that we were meant to have turned up, had they have done so we would have been able to rectify this regrettable administration error and there would have been no need to immediately place negative feedback.

Dave is an experienced, keen and willing tradesman. Unfortunately (and he agrees) he is unable to say "No" to others and as a result following a phone call he frequently left our job early to do other work. He estimated our CH installation would take two days (v unlikely) and in total after returning to reinstall a 'Bristan' shower correctly having installed the controls the wrong way around he made a total of 8 visits made up of half days and some times just three hours. The workmanship and installation is good but as this was the first stage of a major home refurb (flooring, carpets, decorating etc) it was a 'challenge'' to get a clear timeline and not lose other tradesmen. It would not be fair to others to recommend Dave based on the above but with more focus and a reappraisal of how he operates Dave could be a major success in this area.
I am a little disappointed to read Mr Rs review. I am an experienced tradesman, working as a single man company and I have worked in this industry for over 25 years. As such I have many satisfied clients who are in constant contact with me as they know that I provide them with honest and reliable service. Due to this reason I am very busy and I am often contacted with urgent jobs which I endeavour to carry out so as I like to keep everybody happy!
I am pleased to note that on the whole Mr R was happy with the service provided and the quality of workmanship, which is NEVER an issue with me. He was aware of the reasoning behind the shower controls being installed the wrong way round and he agreed to the shower being installed the wrong way round following the explanations given. He then decided that he wanted the shower pipework altered which I was happy to undertake. Delays were incurred due to the timing of holidays on both mine and Mr Rs part. To be fair it did take longer than anticipated and the fact that holidays intervened meant that I couldnt get into finish the job until he got back from holiday.
